LOVE, BETRAYAL & ANGER

Muhammad Adnan, a wealthy and powerful man, is caught between love and duty. He has been in a long-term relationship with Anisa, a sophisticated and beautiful woman from the city. However, in a shocking twist, he marries Mairo, a simple Fulani girl from the ruga (village), in a manufa marriage—a union based on purpose rather than love.

Anisa, enraged by the betrayal, confronts him. "Auren manufa kuma da bafullatanan ruga? Ina alkawarin da mukayi da kai?" she yells, her voice filled with anger.

Muhammad Adnan tries to calm her down, explaining, "Anisa, ba don zaman aure nayi da ita ba. Auren nan don wata manufa ne kawai. Idan kina so, zan saketa."

But Anisa is not satisfied. She refuses to accept Mairo in their home and demands that Muhammad divorce her immediately.

Mairo, terrified and heartbroken, begs him, "Don Allah, Hamma na, kada ka koreni. Koda matsayin baiwa ce, zan zauna a gidanka."

But Anisa’s jealousy is uncontrollable. She insists, "Yau zata tattara ta bar gidan nan!"

THE PAINFUL SECRET

Unknown to Anisa, Muhammad Adnan’s marriage to Mairo is not just for show. He has a deeper plan.

One night, when Anisa angrily confronts him about why he is keeping Mairo, he finally confesses.

"Anisa, na aureta ne don abun da tayi min a baya, kuma don ke," he says. "Kin san yadda Ammie ke damun ki da rashin haihuwa. Idan ta haifa mana baby, zamu ce ke kika haifa."

Anisa is shocked. "Auren manufa? Saboda kawai zan samu baby? Kuma kana so in amince da hakan?"

Despite her anger, she slowly starts to see the logic in his words.

MAIRO’S STRUGGLES

Mairo, a gentle and innocent girl, is trapped in a loveless marriage. She suffers constant humiliation from Anisa, who treats her like a maid rather than a co-wife.

Every night, Muhammad Adnan finds himself longing for Mairo, despite his initial claims that he has no emotional connection to her. Her beauty, her innocence, and her quiet strength draw him in.

One evening, unable to resist his desires, he takes her into his arms. "Ki yarda dani, Mairo," he whispers.

But Mairo is afraid. "Hamma, don Allah, kada ka min haka," she pleads.

But he does not stop. That night changes everything.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF LOVE

Anisa soon realizes that Muhammad Adnan is no longer fully hers. She notices the change in him—the way he looks at Mairo, the way he protects her.

One night, Anisa angrily confronts Mairo. "Dalla malama, fita daga gidana! Wannan ba rugar ku ba ce!" she yells, throwing things at her.

Mairo, who is now carrying Muhammad Adnan’s child, falls to the ground, sobbing.

Muhammad Adnan walks in and sees what is happening. For the first time, he raises his voice at Anisa. "Ya isa haka, Anisa! Kin fiye kishi!"

Anisa is stunned. The man who once worshipped her is now defending Mairo.

THE TWIST OF FATE

As Mairo’s pregnancy progresses, she starts to realize that Muhammad Adnan might never truly love her. She decides to leave.

One rainy night, she packs her things and sneaks out of the house. She has nowhere to go, but she would rather face the unknown than live in a home where she is unwanted.

When Muhammad Adnan wakes up and realizes that she is gone, panic sets in. He searches for her everywhere, but she has disappeared into the darkness.

Anisa, seeing his desperation, smirks. "Sai da nace maka, Muhammad, ba zata dawwama ba."

But deep down, even Anisa knows—she has not won.

A MOTHER’S TEARS

Mairo eventually finds her way back to her ruga. But instead of being welcomed home, she is met with anger.

Her father, Abba Lamido, is furious. "Mairo, kin jawo mana kunya! Kin koma gidan mutumin da ba naki ba?"

Her stepmother, Umma Hausa, adds, "Ke kika ja wa kanki. Ki koma inda kika fito!"

Only her grandmother, Umma Yadikko, defends her. She embraces Mairo, soothing her. "Ki kwantar da hankalinki, yar albarka. Allah na tare da ke."

But nothing prepares Mairo for what happens next—she goes into labor.

In the middle of the night, surrounded by the women of the ruga, she gives birth to a pair of beautiful twins—a boy and a girl.

Tears fill her eyes as she holds them. But her joy is short-lived. She knows she will never be able to keep them.

A HEARTBREAKING DECISION

Meanwhile, Muhammad Adnan has not stopped searching for Mairo.

When he finally hears that she has given birth, he rushes to the ruga.

He stands outside her hut, afraid to go in. "Mairo," he calls softly.

She turns, her eyes filled with unshed tears. "Ka bar ni, Hamma. Ka riga ka yanke hukunci."

But he kneels before her, pleading. "Ki dawo gida, Mairo. Daga yau, ke ce matata."

Her heart aches. She loves him, but she knows the truth—he will always choose Anisa.

And so, with a heavy heart, she makes the hardest decision of her life.

She hands him the twins. "Ka tafi da su. Ka ba su rayuwar da ba zan iya ba."

Muhammad Adnan hesitates, but he knows he cannot argue.

As he walks away, holding his newborn children, tears stream down his face.

Behind him, Mairo collapses into Umma Yadikko’s arms, sobbing.

Her story is far from over. But for now, her heart is shattered.
